For the 2026/2027 season, Breckenridge features the new high-speed four-person chairlift on the north side of Peak 7, which significantly improves the flow of skier traffic. Beginners can comfortably learn on the gentle slopes of Peak 9, advanced riders can explore the steep trees on Peak 10, and terrain park regulars can spend all day hitting jumps on Peak 8. The layout organically separates different skill levels.

The terrain at these mountains often skews slightly steeper, with some of the best tree runs and wide-open back bowls in the state.
You still get modern amenities, but the general atmosphere feels distinctly tailored to core skiers and snowboarders who prioritize snow quality above all else.
Where Can You Ski in Colorado With Ikon?
Let us examine the specific Colorado mountains on the Alterra network. Copper Mountain sits just a short drive from Breckenridge off Interstate 70 and features naturally divided terrain, easily separating beginners from experts. Arapahoe Basin recently became an unlimited destination on both the full tier and the base tier. I love spending late spring afternoons tackling the steep chutes on the East Wall before grabbing a famous Bloody Mary at the 6th Alley Bar and Grill at the base.
Further north, Steamboat provides its famous Champagne Powder and phenomenal tree skiing. Winter Park offers the Mary Jane territory, renowned for massive mogul fields and steep tree runs. If you buy the full ticket, you also get access to Aspen Snowmass, which offers four distinct mountains spread across one luxurious valley.
Let's Talk Pricing for the 2026/2027 Season

The full Epic Pass starts at $1,089 for adults over age 31. Vail Resorts also offers Gen Z pricing, allowing teens and young adults between ages 13 and 30 to purchase the full ticket for just $869. The local tier, which includes unlimited access to Breckenridge and Keystone but features holiday blackout dates at Vail and Beaver Creek, costs $809 for adults and $649 for the younger age bracket.
The full Ikon Pass starts at $1,399 for adults over age 23 and provides unlimited access to 18 destinations and up to seven days at others with zero blackout dates. The base tier costs $949. To appeal to young adults, Alterra introduced a Squad Pack for ages 23 to 28. If five friends buy together, they secure the base tier for $750 each.
