► For outdoor skating, try visiting nearby Meadow Creek Pond in Frisco (bring your own skates) & Keystone Lake near the Keystone Village.
What more delightful way to spend some alone time with your loved on than meandering through acres of snow covered trails while enjoying majestic views; it’s truly a breathtaking experience. And, fitting to the holiday, Breckenridge even offers a trail called ‘The Romance Hike!’

Guided Snowshoe through gold mine history. Enjoy a 1.5 mile otudoor hike/snowshoe through what used to be an active hydraulic mine site. View authentic mining artifacts and get exclusive access into a restored boardinghouse. Snowshoes provided.
Guided or Self Guided Tours. Approximately 1-1.25 hours and offered multiple times a day. Navigate clearly marked trails and explore the incredible history of Breckenridge and its surrounding area. Guided or Self Guided Tours. Explore clearly marked trails for all ability levels, or join a day or evening guided tour! The daytime 2 hour, Jessie Mill guided tour explores one of the iconic mining structures in the area as well as local wildlife. The evening, full/new moon, tour allows participants to experience the great otudoors via moonlight and/or headlamps. Snowshoes available for rent.
- Self Guided Romance Hike Tour
Looking for something a little more intimate and romantic? Why not explore the Sallie Barber Mine (an easy-ish 1.4 mile each way hike, with just 400 feet of elevation gain) Romance Mine Hike. Snowshoes can be rented at Alpine Sports Rental in Breckenridge.
► Hint: Why not pick up one of the delicious, made to order meat and cheese platters from Breckenridge Cheese Shop and pick up a bottle of wine from the Continental Divide Winery (just next door) to bring along on your journey!
♦ Sledding at Carter Park
For the outdoorsy that are still kids at heart, might we recommend at day at Carter Park? The sledding hill here is free (sleds can be purchased at nearby Breckenridge Market) but not for the faint at heart! Don’t be fooled by the amount of children you may see screaming in delight as they race down the hill – this activity is equally as fun and exciting for adults.
We all know Breckenridge is world reknowned for its 2900+ acres of skiable terrain across its five huge peaks. So a day spent on the slopes here is never a day wasted! Whether it be Valentine’s Day or not. Don’t forget to purchase your lift tickets in advance for the best rates!
