Where to Find Isak Heartstone

The Trollstigen Trailhead is located in the southeast corner of the Stephen C. West Ice Arena parking lot, next to the Illinois Gulch Trailhead. From downtown Breckenridge, take the free Main Street Trolley or the Gray Route bus to the Ice Rink stop. Walk across the parking lot to the forest’s edge and follow the troll footprints on the pavement to the trailhead. The hike to Isak is short and easy-just about 400 feet and less than five minutes on a flat, family-friendly path. The trail is foot-traffic only and is designed as a one-way loop for a smooth visitor experience.

Tips for Visiting the Breckenridge Troll

· Leave No Trace: Please pack out everything you bring in to help keep Isak’s home pristine. There are no trash cans along the trail.

· Stay on the Trail: For your safety and to protect the environment, remain on the marked path and follow the one-way loop.

· Respect Isak: Climbing on the sculpture is not allowed. Help preserve Isak for future visitors.

· Dogs: Leashed dogs are welcome, but please clean up after your pet.

· No Bikes or Drones: The Trollstigen Trail is for foot traffic only, and drone use is prohibited.

· Winter Visits: The trail is not maintained in winter, so use caution and dress appropriately for snow and ice conditions.

· Parking: There is limited parking at the trailhead. Walking, biking, or using free public transportation is encouraged.
