Breckenridge Event Calendar

Breckenridge opens lifts for the 2026–27 ski and snowboard season, one of the earliest major openings in Colorado. Vail Resorts set the date in August. Skiers and riders return to the slopes for the first turns of winter.

Breckenridge’s holiday season kicks off with a costumed dog parade, a kids’ Moose March and hundreds of Santas racing down Main Street. At dusk, Santa switches on about 250,000 LED lights. The lights stay up all winter.

This is the nation’s largest adaptive winter sports festival, run by Move United. It is in its 40th year and draws 800+ athletes, coaches and instructors. The week includes ski and snowboard lessons, race camp, free sled hockey and curling clinics, and an instructor academy.

This is the 63rd year of Breckenridge’s tribute to Ullr, the Norse god of snow. Viking helmets fill Main Street for a float parade, a record-chasing Shotski, and a bonfire of old Christmas trees. The goal is to summon a powder-filled ski season.

This free three-day snowboarding and music festival returns for its second year during Ullr Fest. Men’s and women’s pros compete on a rider-designed ParkStyle course. A fan village adds live music, art installations and brand activations.

Breckenridge rings in 2027 with its annual Torchlight Parade, where ski instructors carry red torches down Peak 9. Fireworks follow over the mountain. Kids who can ski green runs can join the earlier Glow Worm Parade.

This is a six-day mountain bike stage race in the backcountry around Breckenridge. Racers cover roughly 220–240 miles with about 40,000 feet of climbing. Each stage loops back to town. A three-day version is offered for less committed riders.
