Summit County Moves to Level Yellow Under New Health Order

At 12:01 a.m. on Friday, April 16 the state of Colorado resigned control over COVID-19 restrictions, turning this task over to each individual county to determine what is best for their own unique situation.

After much consultation and consideration (along with feedback from the community), Summit County officials created a revised dial framework for the county (including Breckenridge). This dial is notably less restrictive than the previous state dial and ties metrics to hospitalization, incidence rate and vaccination rate, which officials believe are more suitable indicators for the county.

Therefore, beginning April 16th, Breckenridge & Summit County, Colorado will begin operating in Level Yellow (Concern) of the new dial framework.

Notable capacity levels and restrictions of Level Yellow are :✓ Increased restaurant capacity to 50% or 150 people, with 6 feet between parties.✓ 5 Star Certified Restaurants permitted to operate in Level Blue at 100% capacity with 6 feet between tables indoors & 3 feet between tables outdoors.✓ Contact tracing for 5 Star Certified Restaurants is no longer required.✓ Transportation, including the Summit Stage & Breckenridge Free Ride, increased capacity to 75%.✓ Restrictions no longer enforced on number of people or households allowed in Vacation Rental units.✓ Face masks no longer required outdoors (including the previous ‘mandatory mask zone’) as long as 6 feet of physical distance is maintained. ✓ Face masks are still required indoors, except when seated at a restaurant
