Arkansas River - When the first gold miners wandered into the Arkansas Valley 150 years ago they were met with a pristine, tumbling river flanked on either side by sprawling mountain meadows. Panoramic views of 14,000-foot peaks paralleled the expansive valley bottom to the west while forested high desert mesas ambled off to the east. The scene has not changed much today. Whichever course you follow, you will be astounded by spectacular vistas, while evidence of those early settlers can still be witnessed in the area's ghost towns and an array of historical sites and museums. For good reason, the Arkansas is one of the most popular stretches of river in the world. With spectacular scenery of the Arkansas Valley, the excitement of nearly 100 miles of Class III, IV and V whitewater, easy access and a phenomenal climate, you'll find one of the greatest recreation options available anywhere!

Clear Creek - The multitude of falls first witnessed by the miners who ventured into this rugged mountain valley long ago remain today as a playground for river runners! Averaging a drop of 65+ feet per mile, Clear Creek is a continuous, steep, technical river that courses down a historic valley in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Clear Creek offers a variety of sections - from beginner to advanced - making it a river that paddlers of any ability will enjoy. Less than a half hour from Summit County, this awesome section of whitewater is easily accessible!

Blue River - An alpine river flowing from the Dillon Dam Reservior to its confluence with the Colorado River, the Blue is known locally in Summit County as a hidden little recreation Mecca. Offering Gold Medal fly-fishing waters, the Blue provides fun and convenient white water with an impressive backdrop of some of Colorado's most stunning peaks.

Colorado River - From easy float trips to cascading Class V whitewater, the state's namesake river has sections for everyone.

Eagle River - Situated close to the Vail & Beaver Creek areas, this river remains one of the few free-flowing rivers in the U.S. Every year, the spring sun warms the western snowpack of the Rockies, giving birth to a new season on the Eagle. High in the river drainage one finds thick forested hillside of lodgepole pine and spruce, which gives way downriver to the sandy sagebrush and juniper of the high desert as the Eagle flows west to its confluence with the Colorado River.
