r you are new to the sport or enjoy climbing 5.14 there is something for everyone in and around Breckenridge. Between Frisco and Copper Mountain you'll find Ten Mile Canyon. Alternatively check out Swan Mountain, one of the most popular climbing locations in the area. Looking to travel further from Breckenridge? Check out the Buena Vista Crags. This climbing area is home to a combination of bolted face climbing and trad climbing cracks.

Ten Mile Canyon offers multiple courses from beginner to expert and is accessible at the beginning of the Frisco Park and Ride bike path entrance. To find this approach, pass the West Frisco Exit and head about .3 miles to a small clearing off the highway. Pull far off the road and look for rock piles (cairns) that guide you up the hill to the base of the rock. This is a gorgeous area to go climbing and offers spectacular views and hiking trails.

Swan Mountain is the considered most popular climbing spot in Summit County and offers a variety of difficulties in the form of multiple courses. It includes excellent bouldering areas and top rope routes throughout. To get here from Breckenridge, simply take Highway 9 towards Frisco and continue onto CO Rd. 1 (or Swan Mountain Road) and turn off into the Lowry campground area.
