Breckenridge monthly rentals are more affordable than you may think! Escape the heat and spend your Summer in Breckenridge! With hundreds of activities at your doorstep, it's no wonder that Breckenridge and Summit County are referred to as Colorado's Playground!

“After spending the last 4 Summers in Summit County, we look forward to returning in May for our fifth. Our primary residence is in Houston, but the unbearable Summer heat severely restricts our outdoor activities and diminishes our quality of life. Summit County, on the other hand, is a virtual outdoor playground with nearly perfect weather all Summer long!

With 55 miles of dedicated bike paths connecting the various towns, Summit County is a cyclists dream, and the endless hiking trails provide spectacular views with fields of wild flowers and a variety of animal life. The old ghost towns and mining ruins give one a perspective of the rich history of the area and the hardships of mining life in the 1800′s.

There are also plenty of options for water sports in Summit County. From Fly fishing, Whitewater rafting to Sailing Lake Dillion… or even just listening to live music at the Marina bars or Amphitheatre – we do it all!

I will definitely bring my golf clubs up again this Summer. I had a blast playing the various courses in the area last year! Having that elevation above 9000 feet makes for some interesting club selections.

On the weekends there are always a variety of events like BBQ cookoffs, Wine and Beer Festivals and all kinds of live music going on around the county. With all these things to do, we have a lot of friends and family that spend their Summer vacations with us. Thus, we rent a 2 or 3 bedroom condo each Summer to have room for everyone. While we will probably buy a place there eventually, renting makes the most sense for us now. Long term rentals are very reasonable, and we avoid the hassle of owning two houses.

After spending so much time in Summit County over the last few years, we have made many great friends there. The friendly, small town atmosphere is such a refreshing change from big city life, we make a point of returning once a month in the winter see everyone. Six months would be far to long to be away!”

Are you interested in exploring a month to month rental in Breckenridge? Ski Country Resorts offers monthly rentals starting at just $1,000/month! Simply click here to complete an inquiry form online and we can help you find your perfect Breckenridge retreat!

Breckenridge receives over a foot of snowfall this past weekend. Breckenridge will remain open until April 30th, 2012. Breckenridge to host the 2012 Winter Dew Tour.

Here in Breckenrige we are slowly wrapping up our winter ski season but, as we do, we’d like to share a couple of exciting announcements!

First, after an admittedly drier season than normal, Mother Nature smiled upon us this past weekend (orginally slated to be Breck’s official closing day weekend) with over a foot of snowfall! And it’s predicted to continue throughout the week! Which means… Just when we all, up here in the highlands, thought we heard the stifled voice of the fat lady echoing throughout the peaks of the Rocky Mountain Range, she was immediately silenced with a pounding of snowfall! Maybe Breckenridge’s announcement to stay open for 2 additional weekends to finish out the month of April wasn’t such a bad idea after all! So don’t put those skis and boards away juuuust yet, folks! That Epic Pass is still good for a bit longer! And if you don’t have your pass? No problem! To celebrate Breck’s 50th Anniversary, lift tickets for the remaining 2 weekends are just $50!! And with lodging at Ski Country starting as low as $89/night – you can stay and ski for under $140!!

Now, on to our second announcement! (Drumroll please…) We, here in Breckenridge, are proud to announce that the Breckenridge Ski Resort will be the SOLE host of this year’s 2012 Dew Tour (December 13-16)! That’s right! Breckenridge will be hosting the Dew Tour for it’s fifth consecutive year and, this year, we don’t have to share the glory with any other ski town! (Call us greedy, call us bias, but we think we were the best stop on the tour, anyway) In addition, Alli Sports (a division of the NBC Sports Group and tour partner with Mountain Dew) promises that this year’s tour will “include expanded and new sports and disciplines, and an enhanced on-site experience featuring more live music.” And the best news of all?? You don’t need to break the bank to attend what is sure to be one of the best events of the season! Ski Country has lodging starting at just $99/night! We are so excited, we’re already counting down the days! Only 258 days to go! 6,192 hours… You get the idea.

So maybe some of you have heard the term “gaper” and aren’t exactly sure what this means? The Urban Dictionary defines the term “gaper” as “A skier or snowboarder who is completely clueless. Usually they are distinguished by their bright colored clothes and a gaper gap, the skin exposed between goggles and helmet/hat. Gapers also do the “Gaper Tuck” which is an attempt at being a ski racer by tucking (their poles), however, it is done incorrectly with the poles sticking straight up like thunderbolts and lightening, very very frightening!”

In honor of these folks, ski towns across the nation have established what is known as ‘Gaper Fools Day’ or Gaper Day for short. So on April 1st, when the spring conditions are beginning to peak, locals find their wackiest retro gear and hit the slopes. Rear entry boots, one pieces, and skate skis are just the beginning of this silly tradition!

It’s a day of harmless fun and everyone is encouraged to join in! This year in Breckenridge Gaper Day lands right smack in the middle of Spring Fever and preceding a day of sunshine, neon colors and spring riding all of the Breckenridge “Gapers” will be treated to a FREE concert, at the base of Peak 8, put on by Donavon Frankenreiter – an American musician and surfer who has made his name through his laid back, relaxing yet upbeat tunes (best known for his single “Free”).

So find yourself your Gaper Day outfit and join us in Breckenridge the weekend of April 1st for Sun, Fun and Laughs! Need to work on Monday? No need to miss the festivities! Stay with Ski Country Resorts and ask us about our late 4pm check out so that you can spend your day on the mountain rather than sitting in traffic on I70!

While another ski season is winding down we look forward to all that Breckenridge has to offer in the Summer months!

As the days get longer and the temperatures slowly rise we are beginning to see that ski season will soon be in our rear view mirror. But as we regretfully say goodbye to another great ski season we look forward to what Spring and Summer time has to offer in Breckenridge, and the rest of Summit County. This week starts the beginning of Spring Fever in Breckenridge which means that Ski season is winding down. Although it is difficult to see another ski season come and go we are looking forward to a beautiful and active spring and summer here in Colorado. Breckenridge summers are picturesque with average temperatures in the 70s, making it a perfect place for any outdoor activity. The warmer seasons offer an abundant range of activities that for the most part are free or low cost, even lodging is less expensive!

The Imperial Express SuperChair is now open here in Breckenridge. This chairlift is the highest running chairlift in the continental United States.

As of Wednesday, thanks to some recent snowfall, the Imperial Express SuperChair is now open here in Breckenridge. This chairlift is the highest running chairlift in the continental United States, at an elevation of 12,840 feet. With the opening of the Imperial lift, Breckenridge now has all 31 of its 31 chair lifts up and running and 89% of the mountains terrain is now accessible. The opening of this lift allows access to an additional 250 acres of terrain for both skiers and boarders alike, including Peak 7 bowl and Imperial Ridge. With added snowfall the resort hopes to open the runs off of the summit of Peak 8, which is only reachable by a hike from the Imperial chairlift. This hike to the 12,998 foot summit at Peak 8 allows access to the Lake Chutes as well as the Snow White terrain, but for now they remain closed. We are staying hopeful that with snow in this week’s forecast that the resort will be able to open this terrain soon. So keep up the praying, hoping, and dancing for snow…the more the merrier here in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado.

This season the country has experienced relatively low snow totals compared to last year, and several ski resorts are trying anything to bring in some fresh powder. Breckenridge and many other ski resorts around Summit County are calling on a “higher power” to bring the white fluffy stuff to the area. Here in Breckenridge we celebrated our annual Ullr Fest to honor the Norse god of snow. Ullr Fest is a weeklong celebration to praise the snow god, Ullr, in hopes that he will bless us with snow. All of us here at Ski Country Resorts even made a Pray for Snow Tebow float for the Ullr parade, If Ullr can’t than Tebow Can, was our theme (very clever, we know). In Vail they brought in a Southern Ute Indian Tribe to perform a ‘snow dance’ in hopes that they could get enough snow to open their back bowls. And finally after weeks of hoping, praying to Ullr and Tebow, snow dancing, and snow festivals Mother Nature blessed Breckenridge and the rest of Summit Country with the biggest storm we have seen this season. Here in Breckenridge we have received 32” last week, and Keystone and Vail received 28”. We are all hoping this is a trend of what is to come for the rest of the season, but we guess it wouldn’t hurt to do some praying or some snow dancing.

Here in Breckenridge we just wrapped up our 49th annual Ullr Festival, and all of the praying to Ullr (Norse God of Snow) looks like it paid off! As we type, the big, fat, fluffy white flakes that we’ve been yearning for are falling down.. with purpose! As the day has worn on, the inches continue to accumulate and according to weather reports this is only the beginning! With a predicted 40% (or more!) chance of precipitation for the rest of the week, you can almost hear the entire town breathe a cummulative deep sigh of relief. The drought is over! Thank you Ullr!
